Biomass

Ranipur Biomass Private Limited (RBL)

Ranipur Biomass Private Limited (RBL), initiated by the directors of Ranipur Sugar Mills (RSM), aims to enhance the agri-value chain by utilizing biodegradable materials like bagasse, cotton stalk, and more.

To meet the rising global demand for biodegradable products, RBL plans to establish a 3-5 ton biomass pulp mill in 2023. This expansion will not only address post-harvest smog concerns in Pakistan but also stimulate economic activity across 400 villages in the Khairpur District. It is estimated to involve 1,089 farm owners and employ 6,250 farmhands.

In the aftermath of the recent Monsoon floods, Ranipur Biomass Limited is dedicated to supporting sugarcane farmers and their communities. While the sugarcane crops in Khairpur survived with less than a 15% loss, other crops were severely damaged. RBL’s involvement in the value chain ensures the sustainability of farmers’ livelihoods.

Shunaid Qureshi, an accomplished entrepreneur, is leading RBL’s initiatives. With successful projects like a sugar mill and an ethanol distillery in Mirpur Khas, his expertise and experience contribute to the company’s growth and environmental sustainability.

Biomass Material

Sugarcane Bagasse

Producing biodegradable packaging materials such as paper or cellulose-based wraps and bags and reducing the need for non-renewable fossil fuels.

Cotton Stalk

Cotton stalk is converted into a sustainable source of energy through biomass production, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and promoting green energy.

Other Biodegradable Materials

Biomass materials, such as plant matter and agricultural waste, are a sustainable and renewable source of energy. These materials can be converted into biofuels, such as ethanol and biodiesel, through processes such as fermentation and pyrolysis.
